Glance

Glance is an open-source self-hosted dashboard software created by Svilen Markov. After making use of the dashboard in my own self-hosted environment I wanted to give back to the project by contributing some of my design experience. I reached out to Svilen and he was open to the idea of exploring a new logo for the project. Working on the designs in my spare time I iterated quickly and shared often to make sure we got to a solution before other life factors would inevitably take over. Creating the Glance logo was an enjoyable experience, working within the brand language that had already been established by the use of the ever popular JetBrains Mono font. I knew the icon, in whatever form it took, was going to be minimal and graphical, the challenge was creating a neat visual concept that communicated what Glance was.
